Art Studio Management & Curation

Working with Michele Del Campo has been an experience of navigating both the emotional depth and the logistical complexity of a truly nomadic artist. Curating his work meant more than selecting paintings—it involved tracing the emotional cartography of his journeys, adapting to his studio-on-the-move lifestyle, and embracing his layered narratives that blend cities, stories, and identities. Each canvas arrived rolled from a different part of the world, yet carried the same intensity: intimate portraits that speak of dislocation, human connection, and fleeting moments. Supporting his practice required an attentiveness not only to his evolving aesthetic, but to the way his art captures what is universally human.

During the pandemic, Michele Del Campo created Pandemic Stories, a poignant series of portraits capturing people confined in their homes. In the studio, we worked closely to develop the project into a collection of books that brought the series to life —merging his intimate drawings with handwritten notes and personal stories from his sketchbooks. I oversaw the entire editorial process, from concept to execution, curating the narrative flow, and crafting the graphic design to reflect the emotional depth and quiet intensity of the time.

The studio of Michele Del Campo was not only a place of creation, but a vibrant hub for artistic exchange. We regularly organized multidisciplinary events—live drawing performances, sound art, and collaborations with other creatives—that invited the public to experience art in an immediate, personal way. Our Open Studio events became key moments of connection between Michele and his audience, attracting collectors, fellow artists, and even institutional figures such as the Italian Ambassador to Spain. Alongside these encounters, we ran drawing workshops that emphasized observation, expression, and storytelling—offering an intimate view into Michele’s process and fostering a space where artistic dialogue could truly flourish.
